Mick
Jones chats to David Randall (repeat)
In 2009 Foreigner released their first studio album in 15 years:
the critically acclaimed 'Can't Slow Down'. The band was
formed in 1976 by Mick Jones (ex-Spooky Tooth) together
with fellow Brit Ian McDonald (ex-King Crimson). Enjoying
massive success with their eponymous debut album, the band went
on to sell over 70 million albums but imploded in the late 1980s
after the departure of vocalist Lou Gramm and the less
successful album 'Unusual Heat' in 1991.
In 2004
the band reconstituted for some live shows with ex-Dokken
bassist Jeff Pilson and Jason Bonham on drums. Kelly
Hansen joined in 2005 and together with Thom Gimbel (sax,
guitar), Michael Bluestein (keys), and original member Mick
Jones recorded the comeback album 'Can't Slow Down' released in
2009.
David
Randall was one of the first UK broadcasters to talk to Mick
Jones about the album and the first broadcast was on 18 October
2010, five months ahead of the UK release date.
