The Guitarists :
Gary Moore

September 2009, Featured Artist
Although we put the feelers out for an interview to tie in with
our feature, which coincided with Gary's UK tour in the UK, this
never happened - regrettably given his sad passing in February
2011 (David Randall)
GARY
MOORE
Gary
Moore's first major band was Skid Row during a time when he
befriended Phil Lynott. He subsequently replaced Eric Bell
in Thin Lizzy, and rejoined that band again in 1977.
Lynott added vocals to Moore's major 1979 hit 'Parisienne
Walkways'.
In the
eighties, Moore developed his Celtic-tinged hard rock but by
1990 he had rediscovered his interest in the blues and released
his landmark album 'Still Got The Blues' which provided a
template for subsequent releases. Moore has maintained a
high quality quotient in his albums, perhaps only dipping in
1997 with the release of 'Dark Days In Paradise' which saw him
dabbling with dance beats.
Moore has
also lent his talents to many other projects, including
Colosseum II, Greg Lake and Scars (perhaps an unlikely
partnership with Cass Lewis of Skunk Anansie and Darrin Mooney
of Primal Scream). Always willing to push his boundaries,
delighting and frustrating fans in equal measure, although
latterly he seems to be reverting to his blues rock leanings and
with renewed success.
