Get Ready to ROCK! Radio celebrates 10 years with
"Best of" show
A month long
promotion highlights our 10 year interview archive
On Sunday 16
September (22:00 GMT) a special show reflects on 10
years of broadcasting. The two-hour feature
recalls presenters and interviews including
contributions from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), David
Coverdale and Todd Rundgren.
Says Station
Manager David Randall: "It was fun putting this
special together and realising just how far we've
come in 10 years. It has been really good to
watch the progress of now established, or
re-energised, names such as Joe Bonamassa, FM and
Todd Rundgren and this show reflects that."
As part of the
station's 10th anniversary celebrations, we'll be
replaying some of our interview highlights gathered since
2008.

Albums That Time Forgot...
The
"comeback" album from Foreigner
Can't Slow
Down
was a fitting title to the album released by
Foreigner in 2009. It effectively marked their
re-generation. Since that time they've
released several compilations and, most recently, an
orchestral album.
'Can't
Slow Down'
was also available in several editions, including a
Wal-Mart special that featured a bonus disk of
classic hit re-mixes.

For artists
and labels, our Mixcloud media is another way of
getting your music "out there". In respect of
interview specials our presenters examine in some
depth an artist's career and each sequence is
sprinkled with carefully selected tracks that
provide a fair and sometimes rare view of back
catalogue.
For the
listener this is a great way of catching up with an
artist's output and discovering new material thereby
informing future purchases.
Our Mixcloud
material can easily be shared in social media or
embedded in artist/label websites.
For our US
listeners we also supply an alternative to the
Mixcloud platform where possible, due to copyright
restrictions in the USA.
More information
>> Every 1-2
weeks we select albums and tracks for more frequent airplay.
These can be new releases or reissues.
How do we
make our selection? We use feedback from presenters and
reviewers, and their opinions at
www.getreadytorock.com
The aim is
to signpost new artists where possible but not always the most
obvious track or single and/or albums/artists worthy of further
investigation. Many selections are previewed in our weekly
'New to GRTR!' sequence.
