Stray formed in the late sixties and their first album was released on Transatlantic in 1970.  In spite of support slots with the likes of Kiss and Rush, and well received albums, greater success eluded them.  Two years after the departure of vocalist Steve Gadd in 1975 the band split.

Guitarist Del Bromham reformed the band in the late-1990's and since that time the new formation have recorded a series of albums, culminating in 2009's 'Valhalla', voted 'Best Album of 2009' by the Get Ready to ROCK! reviewers.
