ELEKTRADRIVE are one
of the Ten for 10 bands selected by Get Ready to ROCK! for
additional promotion in 2010.
ELEKTRADRIVE

The band
in 1983.
This
Italian melodic hard rock band formed in March 1983, and their
debut album was released two years later, called Over The
Space. However, it was with their second album release
that the band generated wider acclaim, receiving a Kerrang 5K
rating for the album Due, released in May 1989; the
magazine commented: 'Class is written through virtually every
song on the record'.

The band
in 1989.
At this
time, the band were gigging constantly in their homeland and
even visited the States in 1990 for promotional work. With
the general climate for Elektradrive's brand of radio-friendly
melodic rock changed by the onset of grunge, they retreated back
to Italy to start work on their next album. Big City
was released in March 1993.
The return
of the original singer Elio Maugeri provided a turning point in
the band's fortunes and work began on a new album in 2004.
Living
4 was released in January 2009 via the Italian-based Valery
Records to wide acclaim and marked a maturity both in
songwriting and musicianship with comparisons made to the best
of Toto and Kings X but with a distinctive sound borne of the
band's long history.
The band
continue to promote 'Living 4' and are hoping to bring their
music to a wider audience in 2010.
