Popular rock website
selects their Special Features for 2011
Since 2003 popular classic rock website Get Ready to ROCK! (www.getreadytorock.com)
has been supporting new and independent artists and labels. In 2010 they ran
a year-long promotion 'Ten for 10' reflecting the choices of their reviewers
and a general public vote.
In 2011 the website, and its dedicated online radio channel, will again
feature ten bands who they consider deserve wider attention or on the verge
of a breakthrough.
February's featured artist is UK blues rock guitarist Larry Miller. Miller's
album 'Unfinished Business' was selected by Get Ready to ROCK! Features
Editor Pete Feenstra as one of his albums of 2010 and he enthused "...after
years of a hard working stop-start career Larry has finally delivered the
groceries!"
Blues rock guitarist Chantel McGregor has also been selected whilst the
classic rock 'n' roll styles are represented by Voodoo Vegas and Four Wheel
Drive.
Says News and Reviews editor Jason Ritchie: "We think that, this year, we
have a wonderful cross-section of artists on the brink of wider recognition.
In some cases they have yet to make their first album, but the key thing is
the quality of the music."
Managing Editor David Randall says that the featured artist promotion
reflects the broad coverage of the website, backed up with a dedicated
online radio channel.
"We do cover the mainstream, but we do like to support new artists as well
as give an outlet to those established artists who deserve re-investigation.
We are proud to say that our radio channel features less than 6 hours
programming a week devoted to what might be termed Top 40 classic rock."
Get Ready to ROCK! Radio can be accessed via iTunes' Radio section, on
stand-alone wi-fi sets, using a variety of mobile phone apps, or by visiting
